Center Of Blind

                                      

The book Blind by Rachel Dewoskin, gives you the opportunity to read about the experience of another. In the book Emma suffers from an accident where a fun celebration turns into a never ending  dark, nightmare. Emma & her father were celebrating the fourth or July watching fire works close, but a little to close. Unfortunately, Emma had been hit with one of the fireworks that had been lit, and not only feel then pain among her face, but losing her sight. " Where am I?" " What is - Take this off!"she said to herself as she laid in the hospital bed the following day. Not being able to see her parents but hear them say " you're awake; Emma you're okay, youre, Emma. Emma. Emma". From then on "progress" was what she was doing. Attempting to go back to school, adapt to the many changes that had came her way due to this incident. With the help of her parents, siblings and her friends she over time is able to accept and adapt. Not giving up would just be a plain simple theme, so all in all the message I was able to get from this story was even though times get rough, to keep trying & with time things can fall into place with your effort and the help of others. Without Emma's parents or family & close friends, Emma would've just gotten angry with herself and always questioning herself why that incident has happened to HER, but she didn't. So Emma became her own person, and was also able to find herself again.

Déjà Vu

In the book Blind by Rachel Dewoskin, something that seems to always come to Emma's mind is the money. If her parents were spending too much, if they'd have enough for the rest of her siblings, "Worth four laptops?". Emma kept thinking that her sister was just complaining to rub it in her face or since she didn't agree that the man that has stepped on to speak with Emma's parents was hot. "The best" for Emma wanted to be provided due to her accident, and Emma felt thankful but worried again because she had other siblings her parents needed to worry about & provide certain things. Flashbacks would come back where she never noticed if they were struggling to provide those certain things for her siblings or her. With the accident then did she only realize that she had two amazing parents & she couldn't be more thankful. Even though her siblings would try bringing up the fact of the money being used for her supplies, she would try to ignore them due to the fact her mother moment after moment would always tell her to not even worry about it. Those memory moments say a lot because she might have had some adjusting to do and gave to realize a lot that was going on around her that she didn't realize before, but now? She couldn't be more thankful & aware.

Limiting Anne.

Anne Frank thirteen years old went on living three more years of her life living in an attic with her family, another and a 50 year old man. From day to night having restraints if the time, the things they were able to do at a certain time. She had to restrain herself, from being herself due to the fact of if the green police were to find them, her and her family would've been sent to concentration camps, or be punished severely for hiding and not giving when they called. Anne and me would have nothing in common with the adversity she faced, because she had limits and thanks to now having laws that are able to give me my freedom I am able to do things she could not do, and feeling but but glad at the same time I can do those things. I wouldn't have been able to do what she done. So she was courageous and something similar would be that we tried seeing these in positive ways even if they weren't all good at the moment. Anne and me, are two very different people. Thane grew up with two very different lifestyles, both good, and bad.

Inside & Out.

         

                     

Emma Sasha Silver, a teenager from "Blind" who'd lost not only her sight but herself. Emma losing her sight was a problem, but not the only one she faced. Inside shed feel as if she saw herself as a whole new person, not recognizing who she once was, she said " sometimes the accident seems like the beginning of my entire life. I can't fully remember who I was before". With that being said, she states herself that she couldn't recall who she once was, and she felt as if she wasn't "Emma" anymore. On the outside, her parents encouraging and trying to have the right amount of patience to have Emma have the courage to go back to school, Emma has a hard time trying to accept that she is actually not going to be able to see again for a while, and she began talking back to her parents. Just a normal discussion could lead to swearing, and frustration for Emma while her parents on the other hand as she could feel, would feel down or feel bad the way she was acting, but they understood that her situation would take some getting used to and they had to have patience. Those internal and external conflicts, seems tough so far. Hopefully, they get better overtime and Emma finds her identify.

By & Upstanding

I believe that the up standers said something and did something about what was occurring with the extermination camps, with the loss of families and loved relatives/friends, because they saw and probably wanted to do something about it because they had nothing to lose. The bystanders probably just stood aside and did nothing about it due to the fact of being scared and risking what they had left, like their lives or family. Something that made them stand up and resist to the Nazi's was religious beliefs, they would resist to the actions the nazis were doing. Something I could have done was speak up and gather people to prove that point, but at the same time resist the fact of being killed. That's what after reading this unit made me think & reflect.

Getting To My Roots.

If I had the decision to travel anywhere I the world, I'd definitely go to Mexico since both of my parents came from there but different parts. My mom is from a small town called Buenavista in Guerrero. My dad on the other hand came from the city & both came from definitely two different lifestyles. My mom grew up to become the queen of her small town, which is one of the reasons I'd want to visit her small town because I'd wanna know where she was when she had that memory. My dad grew up with many step brothers and sisters but he always mentioned these huge lake where'd they all sneak off to go swim in. "The water feels so refreshing, that it clears you mind from all the problems around you" my dad once said to me. He told me many stories of how my aunt and uncles would always be the one trying to hold him back from jumping the top rock into the lake, but in the ne they'd all just end up doing it as well. Just thinking about the experience they had makes me just wanna get up and go and feel that water against me. Buenavista is surrounded by mountains, or large bodies of land. My mom too said there was a huge waterfall by her house and that her siblings and her would go there to shower since many of them back then didn't have water to actually shower. My uncles had a large role that they once had used to climb to the other side of the house to an abandoned  house roof where'd they forget their problems and come up with solutions to them. In the end they needed up tying the rope to a tree close to the waterfall and would hold on and drop into the large body of water. Hearing all those exciting and adventurous stories makes me really wanna see and know what my parents once felt, and make me feel like we'd have a stronger bond. So that's why Mexico out of all the places in the world would be where I would go.

Behind Harry Potter.

The story of Harry Potter comes with I believe the theme of courage. In the book there are parts where Harey Potter, Hermoine Granger, Ron Weasly, all sacrifice their lives and even their education at Hogwarts. From the scene of being in the bathroom all three attempting to escape viscous and terrifying troll. With the attempt of trying to keep Hermoine from getting hurt, Ron casts spells on the troll to take him down, while Harry also begins to take action to not letting the troll hurt his true friends. Taking the risk of trying to di over the truth took a lot of braverymp, courage and really the guts to do what they did. Lord Voldemort was around Hogwarts trying to become in power and Harry was not going to permit that. Harry battled his long life enemy even if he knew his life would be in risk of saving many of those who didn't deserve to be taken. Defeating finally " You- Know- Who" reviled being of no one else could get hurt, Harry was then recognized for his bravery and courage along with his friends Hermoine & Ron. So that is why I came to think that the theme of this book would be that it is courage due to the many scenes that happened with many proving that point.
